What is Cryotherapy?
Cryotherapy emits a fine jet of nitrous oxide under high pressure with pinpoint accuracy, allowing us to work with millimetre precision. This precise application of freezing temperature targets the lesion, destroying unwanted tissue by causing the water in the skin cells to freeze.
As the water freezes, it expands, forming ice shards and crystals that fracture the frozen cell walls, thereby destroying the cells. This method ensures that only the targeted tissue is affected, providing a highly effective treatment with minimal impact on the surrounding skin.

What to Expect
Treatment
Treatment time varies from 5 to 30 seconds depending on the surface area and thickness of the tissue being treated. The procedure can be a little uncomfortable, similar to a stinging nettle.
Immediately After
After treatment, skin may appear red, possibly raised and darker in colour. An itching sensation may occur for approximately 10 minutes. A blister may appear and can last from a few hours to a few days.
Healing
A small dry scab may form post treatment. Most healing will take place 4–6 weeks post treatment. You may shower and wash as normal and use your usual cosmetics during this period.
Follow-up
Multiple treatments may be required depending on the type of lesion being treated.
